Sands of Time

In my 8th grade art class, we had to do an abstract piece for our final. We all created a box and had to use the theme of our school years and lives. The sand is for sands of times. The pencils show that you have to write you own future, it isn't determined for you. The shrinking amount of pencils symbolizes the guidance we have in life. In elementary school, you have a lot of help from parents, friends, teachers, etc. As you get into high school, there is less guidance. Finally, when you start you own life, it's all on you.
